The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has revised its interim guidance for rural health clinics (RHC) rural location determinations due to Census Bureau (CB) regulatory changes.

In March 2023, CMS released a guidance memo that advised RHC’s that, due to March 2022 regulatory changes, there would be an interim process to align the Medicare Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Program’s rural location determinations with the census bureau’s regulatory changes for determining urban area
