DNV Healthcare Adds New Standard Related to Caring for Patients in a Safe Setting, Effective March 24, 2024

DNV Healthcare has added a new requirement to their Hospital and Critical Access Hospital NIAHO accreditation standards. The addition is intended to align with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements under §482.13(c)(2) that say that Medicare-certified hospitals have a regulatory obligation to care for patients in a safe setting.
