CDC Releases Characteristics of EVALI Patients

As of October 29, 2019, 49 states, the District of Columbia (DC), and the U.S. Virgin Islands have reported 1,888 cases of e-cigarette or vaping associated lung injury (EVALI) to the CDC, including 37 (2.1%) EVALI-associated deaths in 24 states. Based on data collected as of October 15, 2019, the CDC is reporting updated data on patient characteristics and substances used in e-cigarette, or vaping, products and describes characteristics of EVALI-associated deaths.
