FDA Alerts Hospitals to Contrast Media Shortages

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is alerting healthcare professionals to the shortages of GE Healthcare’s iohexol and iodixanol, medications used intravenously during computed tomography imaging.  The shortages are related to COVID-19 related shutdown in China. GE Healthcare is currently rationing these products.  The shortage is expected to be resolved by the end of June.
