The Joint Commission is seeking comment on proposed revised standards for their advanced palliative care certification program. Revisions will address requirements related to:

  • Caregivers willingness/ability to provide care
  • Identifying caregiver/family burden
  • Ensuring processes are in place for managing referrals and consultations

TJC’s intention is to promote patient safety and quality while ensuring alignment with clinical practice guidelines. Comments will be accepted through October 7, 2019.
