The Joint Commission is reporting that their Sterile Medication Compounding Tool has been updated and is available on the organizations’ Joint Commission Connect extranet site. According to TJC, the updates reflect how TJC will evaluate compliance for Sterile Medication Compounding for nonhazardous medications using USP 797 2008 version, and hazardous medication compounding using either USP 797 2008 version or USP 800.

See TJC’s announcement for instructions on how to access the updated tool.
