The Joint Commission (TJC) has announced that the accreditation agency has approved two new requirements for their Assisted Living Communities (ALC) Accreditation Program, effective July 1, 2023.

The two new requirements prohibit the use of restraints and seclusion and are accompanied by modified glossary definitions for the terms restraint and seclusion.
