Joint Commission Announces Deletion of Element of Performance Related to Influenza Vaccination Rates

The Joint Commission (TJC) has announced that, effective January 1, 2021, Infection Control standard IC.02.04.01, EP 5, will be eliminated.

According to TJC, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Healthy People 2030 goals, released this past August, eliminated the goal of reaching a 90 percent influenza vaccination rate.
