On June 21, 2023, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended that adults aged ≥60 years may receive a single dose of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine, using shared clinical decision-making. RSV is a major cause of respiratory illness and hospitalizations in older adults during fall and winter in the United States.

On June 26, 2024, ACIP voted to update these recommendations as follows:
