The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS) has rescinded a previous memorandum (QSO-20-31-ALL), Enhanced Enforcement for Infection Control Deficiencies, and replaced it with revised guidance, Strengthened Enhanced Enforcement for Infection Control Deficiencies. According to CMS, this revised guidance strengthens enforcement efforts for noncompliance with infection control deficiencies in nursing homes.
